The City of Grand Island finished development of the Grand Island Transit Development Plan, also known as GO GI Transit in March 2023.

The GO GI Transit process analyzed the current CRANE Public Transit system and developed potential phased recommendations based on current and anticipated future needs. Ultimately, GO GI resulted in an implementable and fundable plan for the next 20 years to assess the short- and long-term needs of transit service in the Grand Island community.

GO GI Transit asked for public input on the potential transit strategies and scenarios by holding three surveys at various milestones throughout the study process. Additionally, the draft plan was available for public comment through January 16, 2023.
